Description
Yang-won Son grew up in Korea under Japanese rule, and while he was still at school his Christian faith was severely challenged when worship of the emperor was made obligatory to all. This was the beginning of his characteristic unyielding faithfulness to Jesus Christ, which was to lead to his first imprisonment by the Japanese.
After the defeat of Japan in the Second World War, Pastor Son was released, only to be imprisoned again--this time by the Communists. His story, part of which has already been told in The Seed Must Die, is one of the triumph of faith under persecution.
