Borneo Evangelical Mission, United Kingdom
Description
This story is about a typical boy from a typical tribe in Sarawak, Borneo. For centuries these people were neglected by civilization and missions alike, but in 1928 with the formation of the Borneo Evangelical Mission in Melbourne, Australia, came the first real efforts to bring light into benighted longhouses. It was not, however, until 1947 that the Kayans first heard the Gospel through their neighbours of the Kelabit tribe. Then in most cases, whole longhouses (100-150 families) turned from their animistic ways to seek peace in Christianity.
